BreathOS Privacy Policy

Platform: iOS (Apple App Store)
Effective date: July 30, 2026

1. Introduction

BreathOS is a breathing-practice app for iPhone. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

The short version: BreathOS has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Everything you create in the app — your patterns, preferences, and session history — is stored on your device and never leaves it, except for the mindful minutes you explicitly choose to save to Apple Health.

The agreement covering your use of BreathOS is the Terms of Service.

2. Information stored on your device

BreathOS stores the following locally, using Apple's on-device storage:

  • Breathing patterns you create or customize, including phase timings, sounds, and animation choices

  • Your favorites and their order

  • Session history — which pattern you practiced, when, and for how long

  • App settings, including audio volumes, reminder time, and session preferences

This information stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, because the app contains no networking code and communicates with no servers.

3. Information we do not collect

BreathOS does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

  • Names, email addresses, or any other contact or identity information

  • Account credentials — the app has no accounts and no sign-in

  • Usage analytics, behavioral data, or telemetry

  • IP addresses or location data of any kind

  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA)

BreathOS contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics frameworks, and no advertising libraries.

4. Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you turn on "Sync to Apple Health" in the app's settings and grant permission, BreathOS writes mindful minutes to Apple Health when you complete a session. That is the only category it writes, and it does not read any health data back.

Health data written by BreathOS is stored by Apple in Health on your device, under Apple's own protections. It is never used for advertising, never shared with third parties, and never transmitted to us — we have no way to receive it.

You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → BreathOS, or by turning the setting off in the app.

5. Notifications

If you enable Daily Reminder, BreathOS schedules a local notification at the time you choose. These notifications are generated on your device by iOS; no notification data is sent to or through any server, and no push service is involved.

You can turn reminders off in the app or in Settings → Notifications → BreathOS.

6. No advertising or tracking

BreathOS does not display advertisements, work with ad networks, or track you across other apps and websites. It does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, because there is no tracking to request permission for. If this ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change ships.

7. Crash reports and diagnostics

If you have opted in to sharing analytics with Apple (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share crash and performance reports with developers, including us. These reports come from Apple in aggregate form and are not linked to your identity. This sharing is controlled entirely by your Apple settings, not by BreathOS.

8. Purchases

BreathOS offers a one-time purchase that unlocks premium features. The transaction is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details — not your card, not your billing address, not your Apple Account email.

What we receive is Apple's confirmation that a purchase exists for the device, which the app stores locally to know that premium is unlocked. That flag never leaves your device, and it is not linked to any identity.

Refunds and the terms of the purchase itself are covered in the Terms of Service.

9. Data retention and deletion

Your data lives on your device for as long as the app is installed. Deleting BreathOS permanently deletes everything it stored — patterns, favorites, history, and settings. There is no server-side copy to request or erase.

Mindful minutes previously written to Apple Health remain in Health after deletion; you can remove them in the Health app.

10. Your rights and choices

Because your data never leaves your device, you exercise most rights directly:

  • Access and portability — session history is visible in the app's History tab; Health data can be exported from Apple Health

  • Deletion — delete patterns you've created or saved in the app; session history is removed by deleting the app

  • Health access — turn off syncing in the app's settings, or revoke authorization in iOS Settings

  • Notifications — manage anytime in the app or iOS Settings

If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us using the details in section 13.

11. Children's privacy

BreathOS is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because the app collects no personal information at all, no such information about a child could be collected.

Breathing exercises carry health considerations, so the app is rated 13+ and the Terms of Service set 13 as the minimum age. The app shows a safety notice before first use, and anyone under 18 should practice with a parent or guardian's knowledge.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be noted in the app or in the App Store release notes before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this document indicates the current version.
